The board members of the Peace Center of Marin have commissioned Precita Eyes and specifically Susan Cervantes of Mission District SF mural fame to do a mural on the west wall of the Good Earth Grocery store in Fairfax.
8 years in the making (being turned down by varoius public bodies in San Anselmo, losing a building we thought we had in San Rafael) we are now finally seeing this Peace Mural come to fruition.
It is dedicated to World Peace of course, but specifically to 2 Marin activists, both of whom left this world far too early: Lyn Rolston of Fairfax and Hannah Creighton of Greenbrae. Anyone who knew either or both of them will understand why this mural had to be done.
We will be having a dedication in September sometime (email me and I will notify you with the exact date).
If you can, go by and see it. You will recognize some local folks and see some history of Marin as well!
