Deepa Kumar will discuss her new book, Outside the Box: Corporate Media, Globalization and the UPS Strike (University of Illinois Press, 2008). She will argue that the working class is still the “gravedigger of capitalism” and further, that even the powerful corporate media can be bent to serve the interests of workers. This event is free and open to the public.
