CodePink Activists summoned to Court in Oakland
Four CodePink mothers have been charged with trespassing at the Oakland Marine Recruiting Station and intimidating the U.S. Marines there. They could do up to a year in jail if convicted in a jury trial beginning this week.
The four mothers – Pamela Bennett, Toby Blome, Medea Benjamin, and Zanne Joi – were jailed March 24 during a protest when they attempted to express their deep despair and profound anguish over the 4000th U.S. soldier death, the 1+ million Iraqi deaths, as well as the continued recruiting of youth.
Four-minute QT movie. 54MB.

Thanks for recording this, Bill. I note that the mainstream media isn't touching this story. Indybay goes where others fear to tread!
I assume that's a rhetorical question. The Berkeley Marine OSO Staff are bound by laws that Code Pink flaunts. It would be fairly simple if the Marines were allowed to act the way Code Pink accuses them of doing... I'm sad that Zanne has already announced that other womyn can go on flaunting the law in ways these four are now bound not to do.
