There seems to have been a news blackout of the Single Payer Universal Health Care demo against the American Health Insurance Plans convention here in SF June 19th. At least 1000 activists, union members, health care workers and community organizations covered the entire sidewalks on both sides of 4th street from Howard to Mission and around the Howard street side of Moscone on all four corners.

It was a very hot day, but thousands still came out to say yes to single payer universal health care and no to insurance companies. We called for support of SB 840 in California and HR 676 nationally. Attendees to the conference had to walk past lines of protestors calling "Shame on You".
