Berkeley Oak Grove in danger today!! Police and climbers cutting down tree sits a day before the judge makes her decision, leaving treesitters hanging by their safety lines screaming for their lives.

Urgent update at the UC Berkeley Oak Grove!! Tuesday June 17

The police and climbers are there right now cutting down the tree-sits and leaving the tree sitters hanging by safety lines screaming for their lives.
Police have barricaded off the sidewalk and tree sitters are pouring their urine on the climbers to defend their sits. Please come and support the tree sitters as right now they need it most. One has been hanging over the sidewalk all morning and will be expected to hang there all day.
The judge is supposed to make her decision about whether or not the trees can be cut down or not tomorrow morning. The UC is jumping the gun with a surprise raid.

UC police have moved into the tree-sit and are cutting branches, ropes, throwing up barricades, blocking the streets and sidewalks.

Apparently UC Berkeley is not waiting for the judges to make their decision tomorrow - once the trees are cut, no court can do anything.

PLEASE go the the tree sit NOW - it's at the top of Durant on Piedmont Ave

These courageous people have been saving these beautiful oaks for almost 2 years now! PLEASE come stand by them if you possible are able! They often come to support our actions!
