First alarm is currently cheating its employees from receiving the proper wages they are entitled to in accordance to the living wage of Santa Cruz County. In doing so they are also providing services to the county of Santa Cruz with out the Proper California Private Patrol Officer Licence.
History.
First Alarm was awarded the County Contract to provide services to all county areas. In accordance to the contract, Any and All employees that work or live in the county of Santa Cruz will be paid the living wage even though they may not work on the Contract.
First Alarm Inc- Was awarded the Contract, however First Alarm Inc- Is the Alarm section of there company and can not provide security services under that name. In the Proposal submitted to the county they did list the proper PPO licence to the County. First Alarm Security & Patrol. Upon the rewarding of the Contract. Only the Officers assigned to the County have been receiving the Living Wage. AND are being paid through the First Alarm inc Account.
This is a doubled edged sword.
1. The account was awarded to First Alarm inc. Then First Alarm Inc has been providing security services to the County ill legally.
First Alarm is fully aware of this and is doing so to defraud the County and cheat all other employees of the living wage. First Alarm currently has 100 Plus employees in Santa Cruz County, however less then 20 on the County staff- U do the math. This has been going on since July 2006.
First Alarm was recently placed under investigation by the City of San Jose for Violations concerning the living wage ordinance. This was in an artical in the San Jose Mercury news on Monday April 28th.
