Illvox (Anarchist People of Color) Announce Contest/Updates
Updates from the new Anarchist People of Color website, illvox.org
Four updates from Illvox.org:
1.) Illvox.org is soliciting suggestions for a new tagline (the current one, “Race. Anarchy. Revolution” was a late-night selection that could be better) or ideas for slogans for a postcard/sticker campaign. Submitters of the winning tagline idea will get a copy of Gloria Munoz Ramirez's book, The Fire and the Word: A History of the Zapatista Movement and the winning card/sticker slogan gets a copy of Vijay Prashad's book, The Darker Nations: A People's History of the Third World. Make'em easily understandable to people, and you could have a new read in your hands. Use the contact form (http://illvox.org/contact/) to participate. Winners chosen this week.
2.) The site's About section has changed to reflect more history of people of color-led anarchism and APOC. Also, listing of the site's non-affiliation of APOC has been removed. The reason is because this site is the only place to find so many pieces on people of color-led anarchism and APOC, and theorists of color talking in this vein of politics. Stating unaffiliation when illvox is clearly partisan seemed to need correction.
3.) In the coming weeks, expect to see a blogroll linking to important sites, bloggers of color and other places. If you have suggestions for sites, please use the contact form.
4.) Visit illvox.org for a new piece in our ongoing polemics series. This week: "Why People of Color Won't Make the Break." If you would like to suggest an idea or write a piece, please get in touch.
