Abolish SF street fairs? Please attend 4/15 meeting!

by TBL
Please attend ENTERTAINMENT Commission meeting, Tuesday afternoon (15 April 2008, Tax Day), SF City Hall, Room 408, starting 4PM.
[ At some SF night-clubs,
violence has occurred
(especially around 2AM).
City leaders responded with various proposals.
Some of these seem reasonable,
but others which would kill
many nonprofit events,
including peaceful daytime events.
...
Some NIMBY fascists even want to
abolish the
SF Entertainment Commission,
and let police govern.
As in mainland China....

[ Rant by
Tortuga Bi LIBERTY:

SF outdoor events
( street fairs, B2B, etc.)
have been under attack
for several years now.
(Yes, there are some minor problems,
which CAN be corrected.)
But, mainly,
the good social aspects
of these annual events
vastly out-weigh the temporary inconveniences.

(As for night-clubs,
I don't have any personal knowledge, nor any comment.)
