Location Details:
San Francisco Waterfront, ending at Justin Herman Plaza, Embarcadero and Market.

The people of San Francisco warmly welcome the symbol of world peace, the Olympic torch. Interrupted only by WW1 and WW2, the Olympics is the opportunity for the children of the world to realize their athletic dreams and meet the athletes of the world and for the workers of the world to witness the fruits of our labor symbolized by every single Olympic medal and by the construction of the Olympic sites, with all the latest technology science has developed. The torch will start at McCovey Cove at Third Street near King Street, be carried by some 80 torch relay runners, many of whom are disabled, on the Embarcadero to Fisherman's Wharf, turning up Jefferson Street, zig-zagging to Polk Street, up Polk to Bay Street, run on Bay Street to the Embarcadero and on the Embarcadero to Justin Herman Plaza at Market Street. The Chinese-American community promises to be there in the TENS OF THOUSANDS as San Francisco is officially 30% and unofficially 50% Asian-American, mostly Chinese-American. The overwhelming majority of San Franciscans who are not Chinese-Americans ALSO WILL BE THERE TO CHEER THE SPIRIT OF WORLD PEACE, THE OLYMPIC TORCH.
