Chronicle’s Nevius Displays Ignorance About Daly, Tenderloin

Friday, April 4, 2008 : Chronicle columnist CW Nevius took time away from bashing homeless advocates this week to criticize San Francisco Supervisor Chris Daly for not doing something that nobody asked him to do. Nevius wants Daly to sponsor a law that limits the amount of shelf space that Tenderloin liquor stores can devote to fortified wine, even though no Tenderloin group has requested such a law or believes that it is a priority.

Of course, Nevius didn’t bother to check with Tenderloin folks about Daly’s responsiveness to their quality of life concerns – as he would have learned that Daly has consistently supported efforts by Tenderloin groups to improve the neighborhood.
