Toxic fumes in Alameda

by reader
Tonight there were horrible toxic fumes in the air when I got home around 8 pm.
I got out of my car and it was like walking into a chemical cloud, like benzene or the smell of car brakes or insecticide or something. Seriously. It was so intense that I ran inside and closed all the windows and shades.

This isn't the first time this has happened.

What if there were something seriously noxious that had been released and was dangerous? How would we even know?

Does anyone know what plant these fumes might be coming from? Someone told me about the Glass Place being bad --

But I don't know if it still is.

Who would this be reported to, besides Greenaction?

theres fumes in every part of bay area , unknown odors that are obvious to sensitized people, thats something mostly the newly sensitized people have to deal with, but those who are not , dont realize whats going on eco wise in the world. like laundry odors that are everywhere these days , large apartment and condo buildings are like factories right in your neighborhood, non sensitive people dont realize that modern life and buildings are just like factories spewing toxic fumes ...

I've lived in the area for almost 20 years and this was not an average "odd" smell.

I notice this only happens at night.
