A Touch of Buchenwald, OUSD Children Subjected to Mass Blood Seizures

In what can only be described as a Little Touch of Buchenwald similar to the medical atrocities committed by Nazi doctors at Auschwitz, Ravenesbrueck, Birkenau, Bergen-Belsen, Dachau, and against Black sharecroppers suffering from syphilis in the infamous Tuskegee Study, the Oakland Unified School District (OUSD) in combination with the U.S. Department of Education, Health and Welfare (HEW) authorized a biological warfare research and criminal forensic lab (Western Laboratories) to seize blood samples from primarily Black children at Clawson, Durant, Melrose and Woodland Elementary Schools for mass illicit DNA genetic screening and testing. The funds for the blood seizure and sickle cell anemia tests were provided by a grant from HEW under a little known program called “SHANS”-School, Health and Nutrition Services project. During this time, HEW was under President Richard M. Nixon’s minion, Eliot Richardson. Richardson also became Nixon’s Secretary of Defense at the Pentagon during the Vietnam War, and then the U.S. Attorney General under the Watergate Scandal. Following the Detroit riots of 1967, the notorious psychosurgery advocates Frank Ervin, Vernon Mark and William Sweet of Massachusetts received special help from Eliot Richardson to begin studies and experimentation on behavior modification of minorities. Richardson managed to get their controversial racially based behavior modification/mind control project financed through Congressional funds. HEW authorized blood sample seizures for up to 750 Oakland public school children. SHANS also involved an undisclosed nutrition program that fed the children at these schools a special controlled, mysterious, and experimental diet. An Oakland native, a former student of Clawson Elementary School in West Oakland recalled that traumatic day of the blood seizure as if it was yesterday. He was in the first grade when the school bell rang suddenly too early for recess or lunch. All the children in his class were lined up and marched out of the classroom and silently herded into a crowded school auditorium. He said the boys went to one side of the auditorium and the girls went to the other side. They were then herded into the school yard. He said that the yard was filed with tables where nurses were stationed. He said that when the children discovered that the nurses were sticking the children with needles panic broke out among them. He said that many of them started to cry out and run in fright. He said that all of them were subdued and forcibly shot with long needles. He didn’t know if they were shooting something into them or just seizing their blood. As far as he knew, his parents didn’t know about the mass blood seizure, tests and shots. He was certain that his parents had not provided any consent to take his blood for testing. He said he never discovered why he had been traumatized, shot, or the purpose of the mass blood screening. For privacy concerns, the man, now in his early 40’s, did not want to reveal his name. He is suffering from a number of different malignant ailments, which is unusual and suspect for a man of his age, and may be related to the OUSD/HEW force blood seizure and mysterious government diet. It is uncertain what HEW did with the blood samples. At the time, HEW was involved in numerous illicit programs to justify shaping national social policy along the lines of eugenics and Nazi Science. HEW was also involved in Cold-War Radiation experiments targeting unwitting Black and Brown people. E. Cooper Brown, Director of the National Committee of Radiation Victims, says, "It is my guess that all those experimented on with radiation will turn up to be at least 60 per cent people of color, with a large portion being African Americans." Did the SHAN nutrition program involve covert Cold War Radiation experiments by feeding the children food laced with ionized radiation, plutonium, uranium, or radium, and had blood drawn to test for malignancies? Was the Oakland school children shot up as guinea pigs with various viruses to induce potential cancers for the U.S. biological warfare program? After numerous FOIA requests by the writer to HEW for information about SHANS, they stopped acknowledging inquiries. Oakland Unified School District also would not respond to requests for information about SHANS or a board resolution approving the blood seizure. The OUSD/HEW blood seizure and experimental nutrition program may expose yet another medical/scientific nightmare comparable to and may even surpass the despicable Tuskegee experiments.
