Clips from Norman's movie, "War Made Easy", will be shown, and Norman will discuss the movie and why Progressive Democrats of America endorses Bill for Congress. Bill will talk about redirecting the vast resources being wasted on war toward more constructive endeavors like a universal health care system. And Mimi will tell us about PDA’s inside/outside strategy for a Democratic Party built on firm progressive principles. There will be refreshments and live music courtesy of Paul and Candy Anderson and their Celtic band.

Norman Solomon, nationally syndicated columnist and author, is a media expert, author of “War Made Easy” and is featured in the movie of the same name. His latest book is "Made Love, Got War: Close Encounters with America's Warfare State". Solomon is the founder and executive director of the Institute for Public Accuracy, a national consortium of policy researchers and analysts. Mimi Kennedy, PDA Board Chair, is an actor and activist. She has worked on human rights, election protection, environmental and labor issues, and studied nonviolent social action with Rev. James Lawson. Perhaps best known for her role as Dharma’s mom on TV’s “Dharma and Greg,” Kennedy has appeared widely on TV, the stage, and in movies such as “Erin Brockovich” and “Pump Up The Volume.” She also appeared on Bill Maher’s “Politically Incorrect.” Her midlife memoir was titled, “Taken to the Stage: The Education of an Actress.”
