Oakland Community Unite! No More Police Violence! Gary King Jr, a 20-year-old African-American man, was murdered by Oakland cop Patrick Gonzales on Sept. 20, 2007. After tazering Gary King Jr. brutally, Gonzales shot him twice in the back. Gonzales has a long history of of harrassment and brutality as an OPD officer, including the murder of at least one other young African American man and the shooting/paralysis of another.
