Our thanks to the Sacred Shellmound Peace Walkers - paying respects to our anscestors

by Francisco Da Costa
Every year around this time the Sacred Shellmound Peace Walkers - walk from Shellmound to Shellmound paying respects to the Ancestors and in doing so - calm the waves of atrocities committed by the Strangers - on Sacred Burial Grounds - all over California. The many Shellmounds are Points of Healing, in the Bay Area - and when any Shellmound is desecrated - injustice is done to the Universe.
Every year for the last three years - the Shellmound Peace Walkers have been walking all over the Bay Area - paying homage to the Ancestors and in doing do calming and neutralizing the atrocities committed at the burial sites.

The shameful desecration crying to heaven for justice.

Now, tell me why would anyone in their right mind - want to build homes, a shopping mall, anything and defile a Burial Ground and disrespect the ancestors?

The only reason anyone can come out with is because - people that do this have any decency - these people have lost their moral compass - and spiritually have nothing much to offer.

At Emeryville this is exactly what happened - knowing well that there were hundreds of human remains - the Emeryville Shopping Complex was built - and thousands of shameless people not knowing about the local history - will go and shop at this complex - mostly to foster materialism.

We call that Emeryville Shopping Mall - the Death Mall - and so remember the next time you go there - you are on Sacred Burial Ground - and fostering materialism, disrespecting the First People.

Some could not care less - reading this - well, they can continue to swim in the cesspool of their own making. We encourage others not to visit sites that do injustice and disrespect Burial Sites.

Some way along the line - in recent times - most folks are NOT paying attention to decency - they are NOT paying attention to their conscience - they are NOT paying attention to their moral compass - they are not educated on issues - and in doing so foster ignorance - that defies morality.

These mostly ignorant folks - think nothing of living day to day - paying little attention to their surroundings - failing to think about history and the First People - and live for the say of living.

This land - all of it belongs to the First People - and if we cannot acknowledge this - the rest is not worth saying anything about. Greed must stop somewhere and for some it goes on and on and on.

When such ignorant folks die - most of them do not contribute much to Society in the form of healing and Respecting Mother Earth. This is not being judgmental but a fact of life.

Witness those that respect Mother Earth - do not waste - live a simple life.

Respect others - do not pollute - are NOT focused on materialism - love their neighbors - are not hostile to the immigrants and the First People - these people matter - they bring peace to the Universe.

I admire people like Wounded Knee who has walked from Coast to Coast to bring a message of peace to the people living in America.

These many years he has fought hard - to save the Shellmounds and to gather women, children, and men of good faith - to bring about healing - all over the Bay Area.

Jenela, Corina Gould, Wounded Knee, Morning Star, Perry, and so many have carried on the tradition - walking 25 to 35 miles a day - stopping at the many Shellmound Sites - and doing what is right - paying their homage to the ancestors.

On another note - we know, that thousands of human remains - all First People - lie in Museums and in other vaults - all over California and these remains must be returned for burial - in a place that the Elders respect and honor.

Here are some photographs of the Sacred Shellmound Walkers - on their last day - being honored and enjoying a meal - at the end of the walk at 780 Valencia Street, in San Francisco.
