Base Camp No Borders!

by Juan Ruiz
Experiences today at No Borders Camp.
We showed up at 1 in the a.m. There was a camp fire toasting and good energy all around. We were tired from a long drive through the night. We finally reached our destination, it feels so good to be at No Borders Camp.

This mornin there was some confrontation with the Federals. 10 riot police were walkin through the Mexican side of the camp. So we blockaded the Border Patrol on our side of the fence. They had there billy clubs ready to hurt us. But we were ready to take a beating for the cause. Good thing there was a good deescalation team in camp. For we talked things through, the cops left the other side alone and we stopped our blockade. It was intense for sure.

Later on we had an awesome rally at the Detention Center in El Centro California, it was one of the most fun protests ive ever drummed at. We had righteous fury and political anger on our side for sure. And we had a big party in the street. Then we went to the Calexico Mexicali border, where we held a joint protest with our comrades from the Mexican side.

Today was intense. I cant wait for tomorrow. Peace Juan
