State and Federal Officials overreact to LBAM and has initiated a massive multi-county pesticide spray with low flying planes. You will be sprayed with a pesticide over your homes for 6 nights 11/4-11/9 several times a year until 2010. The LBAM has a fly radius of 1.5 miles and yet the 6-day spray-a-thon will be over residential areas. CheckMate OLR-F is a biochemical that will linger in the air for over 30 days. LBAM has caused virtually no crop damage in the Monterey Bay area. The damage incurred to growers is from restrictions and quarantines put in by State and Federal agencies. CheckMate OLR-F is a pesticide by the EPA’s own definition. http://www.epa.gov/pesticides/about/index.htm CheckMate OLR-F Warning Label states “Harmful if absorbed through the skin. Causes moderate eye irritation. Avoid contact with skin eyes or clothing. Harmful if inhaled. Avoid breathing vapor or spray mist.” CheckMate OLR-F has only been tested on rats and mice for short-term reactions. No long-term studies have been conducted involving humans or animals. We are to be the guinea pigs. After a 3-day LBAM spray over Monterey area an 11-month-old baby was admitted to Community Hospital of the Monterey Peninsula for severe respiratory problems. Steve Hartmeier of Suterra llc, makers of CheckMate OLR-F, refuses to disclose all of the agents in the pesticide they will be spraying you with.
