Tuesday, September 25, 10 AM Marin County Supervisors Chambers USE OF PUBLIC COMMONS CIVIC CENTER ELECTRONIC BULLETIN BOARD Come to the Marin County Supervisors meeting and ask that a public hearing be held to determine the use of the counties public electronic billboard. Alan Barnett has proposed that the sign be used to keep Marin abreast of the cost of the “war on terror,” what many consider an occupation. Come join MPJC, Progressive Democrats of Marin (local branch of PDA) and Democracy for America (DFA). Members from Main Street Moms and Sr. Marian Irvine from Dominican Sisters. “We need for a public hearing on proposal to use electronic billboard to raise public awareness about the war by interspersing coming attractions at the Marin Center with up-to-date death toll of US troops and dollar cost to Marin residents. Even though Supes do not currently favor the proposal, democracy cries out for them to hear from their constituents. Although the sign has customarily been used to announce Marin Center entertainments, the national emergency of the endless blood-letting requires setting aside business as usual. If Marin were to display the body count and cost of the war, it would become national news and embolden other communities to take similar action to break the stalemate in Congress.” Alan Barnett Open time is 10 AM. from www.mpjc.org add put up by
