East Bay | Racial JusticeBay Area Protest Demand "Free the Jena 6!"
On September 20, as 60,000 people converged on Jena Louisiana from all over the US to demand freedom for the Jena 6, thousands also demonstrated throughout the Bay Area. Over 1,000 held a spirited rally at UC Berkeley which was joined by scores of students from Berkeley High who had walked out of school. About 300 students then marched around the Berkeley campus. Berkeley High students who were at the Cal rally returned to their school and "broke out" over 100 more students to take a stand for justice.
