Alma Bulawan is a founding member of Buklod ng Kababaihan (Advocates for survivors of sex work and trafficking), an organization run by and supports former and current women working in bars around Subic. Ms. Bulawan has been an advocate for women and has spearheaded anti-trafficking efforts in the Philippines and Internationally for many years.

Dolly Yanan, with a background in journalism, is an environmental and womenʼs rights advocate. Sheʼs the director of the Yokubari Foundation, an environmental organization that educates and the director of the Yokubari Foundation, and environmental organization that provides education and empowersent skill empowers local communities impacted by the toxic contamination from the former Subic Naval Base.

Beth Lamsin is a member of Buklod and a survivor of working in the bars around Subic. Ms. Lamsin continues to outreach to women currently working in the bars, educating them about their rights.

Buklod and Yokubari are both member organizations of the Metro Subic Network for Bases Clean-up (MSN), a membership-organization, campaign-based, focused on toxic waste and social issues around former Subic Naval Base in the Philippines.

Corazon Requizo has a background in labor union organizing, fighting for womenʼs rights. Ms. Requizo is also the secretary general of KAISA KA (Unity of Women for Freedom), an organization that raises the social and political awareness of women, empowers them with tools for analysis and skills, and fights for genuine liberation. Ms Requizo is one of the lead organizers of Task Force Subic Rape, a coalition of 14 organizations that is leading the campaign against the US Marine who raped a Filipina.

The women are delegates from the Philippines attending the Women for Genuine Security Conference, "Women Resisting Militarism and Creating a Culture of Life," Sept. 9-15.
