South Bay | Police State and PrisonsAnti-Taser Action in San Jose
Anti-Taser Rally in San Jose ![]() banner.jpg I joined the event at City Hall, after 100 people had marched from the District Attorney's office, by way of the Police Department. A number of activists, including family members of people who had been injured or killed by Tasers, spoke to the crowd. Then black balloons, representing the 268 people killed by Tasers nationwide, were taken into City Hall. The demonstration wound up in a lobby near the Council Chambers, where a City Council meeting was going on. The balloons were left in the lobby as a reminder that the community wants the legal and political establishment of the city of San Jose to take notice, and ban tasers.
