Early photos from Peace Action at SF Federal Building: Pelosi Speak With Us!
by Robert B. Livingston

I recall the words Ray McGovern spoke in San Francisco last year: He said that it was women like Cindy Sheehan and Medea Benjamin and members of Code Pink that inspired him. They have all the guts.

Well, me, I had to leave to go to work.

How I wished I could have stayed.

And I guess Nancy Pelosi thinks her work is more important too.

Why hasn't she met with her own constituents? Why won't she listen?

I had to leave early. I hope that maybe the peace action today brought Nancy over to talk.

She is away from Washington on recess.

Here are some early photos... stay tuned to Indybay.org for more news coming from others.

It isn't important.

Perhaps Nancy doesn't meet with these types is because she's heard the same message five billion times already. (And those annoying stalker-type routines at her house are even more pointless).

She doesn't have the votes to cut off funding.

And she knows it.
Pelosi didn't have to bring funding up for a vote

she's Speaker of the House. I'm on my 12th day of a hunger strike, and I was one of the ones arrested. The reason I personally took part in this event is that I'm fed up with my elected representative refusing to hold a public dialogue with *any* of her constituents about peace. I heard this from horse's mouth -- one of her top aides, Dan Bernall. I've written some first-hand reports on Camp Pelosi/Feinstein at my blog: http://jpaulson.blogspot.com -- check it out!
