CAT LOVERS BEWARE!! Coyotes Have Crossed into the Sunset (sunset / parkside)
http://sfbay.craigslist.org/sfc/com/380571609.html
The remaining coyotes in Golden Gate Park have been seen at 5:30 a.m. crossing Lincoln Way at 29th Avenue crossing back into the park. Missing cat signs have also been posted at that location. The coyotes have virtually wiped out most of the feral cat colonies in the park along with rabbits, quail, foxes, possums, and cats.
Apparently when cats are being chased by a predator, they only run. They do not think to go up a tree which is why so many of them have been killed by the coyotes.
PLEASE, PLEASE spread the word to all your cat loving friends. Keep your cats in after dusk if you must let them out at all.

Videos for Peace presents Reel Bad Arabs: How Hollywood Vilifies a People (60 min)
This groundbreaking documentary dissects a slanderous aspect of cinematic history that has run virtually unchallenged from the earliest days of silent film to today's biggest Hollywood blockbusters. Featuring acclaimed author Dr. Jack Shaheen, the film explores a long line of degrading images of Arabs--from Bedouin bandits and submissive maidens to sinister sheikhs and gun-wielding "terrorists"--along the way offering devastating insights into the origin of these stereotypic images, their development at key points in US history, and why they matter so much today. Wheelchair accessible.
Free popcorn available for your enjoyment.

Abundance League "Food Edition" 7/26 @ 6pm
Food! Delicious, nourishing, beautiful food! In and of itself, it's essential
to life and a basic pleasure. But as we've all undoubtedly experienced,
it has a special power to bring people together. The meal as a social
ritual seems to be part of all cultures.
This month we explore food as a social technology. Neal Gorenflo
will share his experience hosting simple dinner parties with an
emphasis on connection rather than Martha Stewartesque ostentation.
You don't have to bend over backwards to entertain! In fact, that
might just get in the way of building community.
Neal will bring a couple of his favorite easy-but-healthy dishes to share
and will facilitate a discussion about entertaining in a sensible, sustainable
way, a way that makes it more likely you'll bring your friends together
again and again. Feel free to bring your favorite dish or recipe as well.
And as always, please come prepared to tell us about your passions,
discuss your needs, and share your gifts so that members of the community
can support each other in building the lives we want to live.
What: The Abundance League Monthly Gathering
When: Thursday, July 26th, 6:00-10:00pm
Where: Doris and Harald's place

2007-07-28 8:00 PM Gratitude Nights
?is the possibility of empowered community in action. Once a month, we come together to create a
loving celebration of life, and to transform what we refer to as ?socializing.?
We generate the party from within, and at the same time we generate generous funds for
the causes we, as a community, are a stand for. Holding our authentic connection as sacred, we
honor our unity in ceremony and dance. By choosing to celebrate for change, we come to know the
path to be the goal?

The 4th Annual Burning Man pARTiciPARADE
Since 1998, by declaration from then-Mayor Willie Brown, July 31st commemorates NO SPECTATORS DAY in San Francisco. To celebrate it this year -- in true Burning Man style -- we're holding our 4th Annual pARTiciPARADE on Sunday July 29th!
Meet at the big tree in Buena Vista Park on Haight Street at 2PM to begin our unofficial 12 step program in zaniness! Our pedestrian journey into radical street amusement leaves the park at 3PM sharp, makes 12 stops from cancan to carousel ride, and concludes with roller disco in Golden Gate Park.
You WILL be a tourist attraction, so wear outrageous colors, stripes, dots, or your best parade dress trash. Bring flower petals, mobile instruments/noise makers and rolling sculpture you can push, pull, BE or carry with you on sidewalks and park lawns. BE the art and put a little freak back in Haight Street
Please obey all traffic laws, and spread the positive energy we're building far and wide! FREE and ALL AGES!
