TEHRAN (Fars News Agency)- Secretary of Iran's state Expediency Council Mohsen Rezayee said that the confessions made by the Iranian-Americans revealed that the US is disappointed with its short-term regime change plans and is now thinking of overthrowing the Islamic Republic ruling system in the long-run.

"The confessions made by the Iranian-Americans showed that Americans are disappointed with the toppling of the Islamic Republic in the short-run and are now thinking of long-term plans and programs to achieve this goals," Rezayee said.

He further called on people and officials to treat the case very vigilantly, and seriously, reminding that the US has already exercised such soft overthrow of governments in other countries.

Rezayee further underlined the need for the officials to teach the techniques and tactics of such new plots to the people and the elite of the society, reminding that the US is always seeking to practice such plots.

Meantime, he said that Iranian people and elites enjoy high potentials and capabilities in confronting such plots, reminding, "There are thousands of scholars, intellectuals and intelligent and skillful analysts who could easily defuse this new plot of the enemy."

Rezayee approved of the airing of the confessions by Iran's state-run TV, saying that enlightening public opinion constitutes a duty and responsibility for the Islamic Republic of Iran's Broadcasting (IRIB).

He called on IRIB officials to give up conservativeness in raising the different issues and show more political and cultural debates to increase public trust in the state-run TV and radio.

To conclude his words, the Expediency Council secretary praised the TV for presenting useful points when airing the confessions of the Iranian-Americans.

TEHRAN (Fars News Agency)- A prominent Iranian lawmaker said here on Saturday that the confessions made by Haleh Esfandyari, Kian Tajbakhsh and Ramin Jahanbaglou made enemies' plots fall flat.

Speaking to FNA, chairman of the parliament's National Security and Foreign Policy Commission Alaoddin Boroujerdi pointed to the harsh reaction of the US officials and Zionist and western media to the airing of the confessions, and said, "Haleh Esfandyari, Kian Tajbakhsh and Ramin Jahanbaglou have made these confessions voluntarily and in a fully free atmosphere."

He said that Iran's enemies, specially the US, have made large investments in anti-Iran measures, "but the Islamic Republic's security and intelligence forces arrested their agents vigilantly and defused their plots."

"Thus, the wrathfulness of the enemies and (western) media networks is something natural," Boroujerdi added.

He also reminded the open approval of large budgets in the US Congress for anti-Iran operations and measures, and said that Washington has repeatedly announced and shown its hostility towards Iran very publicly.

The MP stressed Iran's might and power, and said that Iran's powerful reaction to enemies' plots plays a big role in changing the United States' policies on Iran.
