In the 6/4/07 sentencing hearing for District of Oregon eco-sabotage defendant Daniel McGowan, the prosecution made references to the “Midwest cell” of the Earth Liberation Front, and stated that investigations are ongoing. Daniel McGowan, who apparently took part in an action against experimental trees in Rhinelander, Wisconsin in 2000, has refused to name names in regards to the Midwest investigation. The government nevertheless stated that it has “leads” in the investigation against this cell, including Ian Wallace who is cooperating with the government.

Daniel McGowan, who apparently took part in an action against experimental trees in Rhinelander, Wisconsin in 2000, has refused to name names in regards to the Midwest investigation. The government nevertheless stated that it has “leads” in the investigation against this cell, including Ian Wallace who is cooperating with the government.
The government also stated during this hearing that the statute of limitations had not run out on the November 5, 2001 placing of incendiary devices (which were disarmed) at the Houghton, Michigan U.J. Noblet Forestry Building plus a U.S. Forest Service laboratory at Michigan Tech University.
