Come experience Oaxaca’s largest Indigenous celebration, the Guelaguetza in Santa Cruz! Costanoa High School –Centeotl, Grupo de Danza y Baile de Santa Cruz, are hosting a celebration filled with music, dance, art and color entitled “Vive Oaxaca ” and its Indigenous Communities. This event will be an opportunity to share with the citizens of California the pre-Columbian traditions that Oaxaca has to offer.

When: Saturday, June 23, 2007.
Time: 12-4:00 P.M.

Where: Civic Auditorium in Santa Cruz, California
307 Church Street
Santa Cruz, CA 95060.

Who: Participating Indigenous Communities include: Tlacolula de Matamoros, Yalalag, Ejutla de Crespo, San Pablo Huixtepec, Zimatlán de Álvarez, San Pedro Totolapan, Cuilapan de Guerrero, San Luis del Rió, Centro Oaxaca, Zaachila, Santa Lucia del Camino, San Martin Tilcajete, Lachiroag, and Magdalena Tequisistlan.

Oaxaca, los oaxaqueños radicados en Santa Cruz, California en colaboración con La Escuela Preparatoria Costanoa y el Grupo de Danza/Baile Centeotl de Santa Cruz, organizan una celebración nombrada "Vive Oaxaca" y sus comunidades indígenas. Durante la dicha celebración, chicos y grandes podrán apreciar el folclor oaxaqueño a través de bailes, danzas, sones y jarabes típicos del estado sureño mexicano que aún mantiene viva sus tradiciones precolombinas.
