Don't miss this critical moment in our campaign. Following the rally, the City
Council will discuss whether to fund the Oakland Green Jobs Corps. The future of
green jobs in Oakland is at stake -- Reclaim the Future needs your help to make our
shared vision a reality. We need YOU, and everyone you know, to show the Oakland
City Council the strength -- and size -- of the movement for eco-equity and
green-collar jobs!

WE'RE TAKING OUR CAMPAIGN TO WASHINGTON, DC

All our hard work is making waves inside the Beltway, too. Van Jones, President and
Co-Founder of the Ella Baker Center, has been invited to testify before Congress on
Tuesday, May 22nd.

Earlier this year, Speaker of the House Nancy Pelosi led the House in creating the
Select Committee on Energy Independence and Global Warming. This unique policy
committee is one of Congress's first meaningful ways of addressing our nation's
dependence on oil and the threat of climate change to global ecosystems and
economies. Tuesday's hearing, "Economic Impacts of Global Warming: Green Collar
Jobs," will include the work we've done to create green pathways out of poverty and
explore opportunities for building a national Clean Energy Jobs Corps. Our hope is
that Congress may eventually provide federal funding for green-collar job training
around the country!
