Thousands of people gathered at Ocean Beach in San Francisco to spell out the words "IMPEACH NOW!" with their bodies. Vocal opponents of capitalism and US imperialism mingled with pro-democrat liberals to voice frustration with what many call a “criminal regieme.” As the 100-foot letters were not visible from the ground, a hellicpter flew overhead to film the message. Even organizer Brad Newsham had said, at the first “Beach Impeach” that the movement to oust George W. Bush “needs a visual image.”

“We need to let [our representatives in Washington] know what the people feel and we need to stand up for what we believe in,” said Newsham. “We need to hold ourselves accountable for the things we’ve done as a nation, and the only way to do that is by holding our leaders accountable.”
