Protect Medicine Lake

by Francisco Da Costa
Medicine Lake is Sacred Ground and it is time that those that choose to destroy and defile stay away from the Sacred Places chosen by the ancestors and respected for thousands of years. The Courts should respect Sacred Places and it is NOT right that again, and again, again, we plead and beg for the Courts to understand what is simply right - respect for all Sacred Sites - Respect for Medicine Lake. Honor our ancestors and what is more Respect - Mother Earth.
It was windy and cold, April 6, 2007 at high noon - but those that Respect Medicine Lake were there in force before the Federal Building, in San Francisco - gathered in force to respect Medicine Lake.

It was great to see the Elders, children, men and women of good faith come out united and speak their mind in the circle.

It was great to hear the warriors garner support and show the way to lead.

This fight will be won one battle at a time. Just like the decision on the San Francisco Peaks - we expect very soon a very favorable decision by the Court on Medicine Lake to be protected against any and all development and intrusion.

Kudos to Mark, Morning Star Gale, Wounded Knee and others for bringing us all together to fight a just cause:
