Thu Mar 29 1-3pm HULA HOOPING in Dolores Park, Dolores @ 19th/ 20th
Last week we started a new mid-week mini-hoop jam on Thursdays from
1-3 or so in Dolores Park. And tomorrow we'll be meeting there for the
second time to hoop it up! There were six of us last week on very
short notice so hope to see all of you there that aren't gainfully
employed and stuff.
As for Sunday, last week I said we'd be going to Berkeley, but that
was before I found out that the very first Sunset Party of the season
is happening this Sunday, so rather than going to East Bay, we're
going to be going to Marin since we haven't been up there in ages. Now
technically the location is still to be announced, but the word is
that it's all happening where the first Sunset Party of the season
seems to be every year: Stafford Lake in Novato. Here's the url for

Thursday, March 29, 6pm -- MASTURBATE-A-THON VOLUNTEER/PLANNING MEETING
At CSC, 290 Division St #405 * Snacks provided.
You are invited to volunteer your very life essence, the most valuable thing you have, to the most inane, insane benefit the world has ever seen. Come help a group of people masturbate in public to raise funds for a legally organized non-profit. Watch as they pleasure themselves toward a legal letter to the IRS which tells the IRS that they masturbated to raise money! A wank off which is a complete write off!
See the noodlers wander and peer. Experience base beauty and earthy wonders. Stand and soak in the marvel of a group grope.
No standing and modeling here, hang with the jiggiling flesh of the masses. Leave the pretty parties behind and experience the flesh of the ages.
This year is going to be very busy indeed. We have booked the Porn Palace at 415 Jessie Street, behind the Old Mint. We have on line needs for directors and production crew, administrative and office manager, models, security and traffic control, on line ad sales, tshirt and poster producer, floor monitors/orgasm counters, cleaning fairies, 2257 release staff, clothes checkers, old and young gaffers, best bois and good hearted sex workers and strippers of all catagories.
We need sexually oriented acts and content, sex esthetes, nude performers, exhibitionists, jack off artists, jill off artists, vibrator riders and fucking machine exhibitionists who wish to be seen by a lot of people on line and would love to show the world that they will be willing to:

SF Really Really Free Market March 31st 1-5 pm
Art SF, 110 Capp St. @ 16th http://www.reallyreallyfree.org
A Really Really Free Market is like a potluck for whatever you want to give or take away. Have you ever brought one dish to a potluck and gone away with a full belly and a balanced meal? Everybody brings something and goes away with more.
We all have skills, ideas, objects, smiles, talents, friendship, excitement, discussions, and many other things to share. If we bring them all together at the Really Really Free Market, we can provide more balanced and full lives for everyone. As a community we have many more resources than we do as individuals. If we share our resources we won't need to buy as many new ones. This uses fewer of the Earth's resources, and fewer of our working hours, leaving us more time to devote to ourselves and our communities. Would we all work forty hours a week at one job if we didn't feel we had to? What if instead we worked at improving our individual skills and talents and shared them with each other? We would all spend more time doing things we enjoyed. The Really Really Free Market is an attempt to put these ideas into practice for four hours every month and then spread the seeds everywhere - share, share, share.
Please help us keep the Really Really Free Market a 100% FREE and non-commercial event. Once a month, let's come together and forget about trading, bartering and money. Leave the business cards at home and remember the joy of giving for the sake of giving. Help us keep Art SF clean. If no one takes what you brought, please bring it home with you.

PROMOTIONAL PARTNERS: Sunset Promotions & Get Freaky
PRESS INFO: Scott Simoneaux | scott [at] infectiouspublicity.com | 323.969.04041
DETAILS: On Saturday, March 31 at DNA Lounge, Bassnectar celebrates the release of “Underground Communication” (Om Records) with a massive blowout party at DNA Lounge. More than a standard club show, this multifaceted event will be a “Live Experiment In Sonic Expression” featuring a unique 2-hour Bassnectar performance including dozens of dancers and performance art. The show will also feature live performance from Colorado next-tronica heroes Zilla, puppet masters the Fungineers.
Having already been named San Francisco’s #1 DJ in Nitevibe, the Bay Guardian and SF Weekly, Bassnectar’s national recognition is rising to new heights. Lorin Ashton has earned the love through a constant stream of groundbreaking releases and constant nationwide touring. In 2006 alone, he played more than 150 dates, including headline performances at Shambhala, Sea of Dreams, Symbiosis, All Hallows Eve, and SF Decompression, in addition to his annual pilgrimage to Burning Man. On the new album "Underground Communication" (due out in May on SF Indie Om Records), Bassnectar takes another step forward in his genre-bending blend of musical styles and emotions, combining the visceral melodic presence of modern listening music, with the force and volume of sound system dancehall devastation. Whereas the previous record featured collaborations with musicians and bands, the new record is more of an exploration of hip-hop culture, featuring scores of MCs and rhythmic poetics mashed atop a heavy, driving range of tempo and, of course, those signature throbbing bass lines. Rooted firmly in political conviction, philosophical intention and backed by a rabid fan base and dedicated following, “Underground Communication” sets a new standard for the possibilities of merging music, art, new media and social activism.
Boulder, Colorado trio Zilla has emerged like a Phoenix from the ashes of beloved rock group String Cheese Incident. The trio features drummer Michael Travis, bassist/guitarist Aaron Holsten and hammered-dulcimer wizard Jamie Janover. The music itself is a plethora of grooves, beats, and highly percussive breaks which cause the listener to become engulfed within a sonic vortex of sounds encompassing them. The band plays on pure emotion, so each night is different and varied, and no song is ever the same. As pioneers on the eternal quest for brand new kinds of fun, the Funginears integrate vocal percussion, puppetry, poetics, collaborative storytelling and (r)evolutionary silliness to create interactive extravaganzas for children of all ages. Grounded in the healing power of laughter and the visionary potential of co-creative play, Funginears utilize puppets to channel the musical energy of beatboxing and multidimensional soundscapes into a narrative flow, taking the audience on an epic journey through the realms of imagination.

Ocean Beach Cleanup Hello diligent workers!
It's that time again. Time to go git 'er done down on Ocean Beach. This
will be the last one before random fires are outlawed and the permanent fire
pits go into effect on April 14th. However, we will continue to meet the
first Sunday of every month past April to clean up the rest of the messes
left behind.
This time we will meet at Stairwell 20 at 2pm on April 1st. I'm thinking
that it will be best to move our way down and start a little later since we
have alot more daylight this time of year. Please remember to bring layers
and some snacks to sustain you. We'll have the usual bagels and schmear.
I'm looking forward to our pyre at the end, as it will be the last of its kind.

San Francisco’s World Water Challenge 7:00 p.m. – 8:30 p.m. on April 4
Women’s Building SF, 3543 18th St. in the Mission, @ Valencia and Guerrero St.
WHAT: Join faith leaders, water experts, community members, and environmental groups as we celebrate international World Water Day with an evening of education and action. The World Water Challenge is an hour-long community education program about the dangers of corporate control of water and actions to turn back the tide. Included are stories of corporate water abuses in Asia, Latin America, the United Kingdom and North America.
The event is part of Corporate Accountability International's “Think Outside the Bottle” campaign, which raises awareness about the growing global water crisis, and organizes to protect water as a human right, instead of a corporate commodity.
The United Nations estimates that by 2025, 2 out of 3 people will not have access to water. Find out how we can work together here in the Bay Area for this invaluable common good. Free food provided! Bring your families, friends, and neighbors. All are welcome.

BunnyJam07 is coming up, Saturday April 7th.
It's going to be at the Porn Palace space in SF (mission, near the metreon parking garage).
Great space, that looks really nice inside. Castle Room, Barnyard, Retro Bar Room, Jail Room, and more.
The theme is going to be: "The Hare-Itics Ball : Ye Ole Bunny Jamme" Hop with it.
We really need some fresh bunny art so it's not just the same stuff recycled from last year.
We have alot of small (as in up to 5x5 feet) spaces spread around the venue that we'd love to fill with bunny art. This is where you come in to play. Do you have an idea for an art installation, interactive art piece, performance art piece, or anything really, that you would like to bring to bunny jam?
If so, send me a message or email me at sfaaron26 [at] yahoo.com
We also need general volunteers for set up and running the party, but that doesn't take as much advanced planning.

http://www.jonbrumit.com/byobw.html
7TH ANNUAL 'BYOBW' BIG WHEEL RACE
FREE OUTDOOR EVENT EASTER SUNDAY, 2007 4 PM TOP OF LOMBARD ST, SF
BIG PEOPLE ON KID'S TOYS NO RUBBER WHEELS HAND-MADE PRIZES FUN!
2007 will be the SEVENTH ANNUAL BYOBW, neighbors and police permitting, rain or shine ... there are always prizes, one year featured tighty-whities with custom denim iron-on Lombard Street Skid Marks and other years have featured paintings, string art, shellac plaques, and embroidered knit caps and t shirts, all made by me. Lombard Street is of course not the crookedest street, especially compared to Vermont Street in Potrero Hill, but with a built-in international audience and scenic landscaping, who could resist? Prizes are given for all sorts of reasons, occasionally for being first, always for being last, and as the race is designed for plastic children's toys which are prone to failure when carrying over 80 pounds, winning isn't the goal here - survival is. This is a free event!!!!

Café Gratitude and Barefoot Boogie! 4-11 7:30 PM Location: City Dance Studio
Café Gratitude is more than a restaurant?it?s becoming a way of life for many people in the Bay area. Freestyle dancing has been a ?movement? of its own for many years now, providing an outlet for people in search of creative expression, community, and exercise without having to put up with the drugs, alcohol, loud volume and late hours of the rave and club scene. Now we get to put the two together!
Join the founders of Café Gratitude, Matthew and Terces Engelhart, at Barefoot Boogie on Wednesday, April 11. From 7:30 to 8pm, Matthew and Terces will talk a bit about their lives and how they got where they are today, what motivates and inspires them, and will lead us through a ?gratitude exercise? to motivate and inspire us! Then A+ (aka Adamah), the founder of Gratitude Nights, a monthly dance-art-community benefit celebration, will deejay a funky, deep, and juicy mix of music for freestyle dancing.
Barefoot Boogie happens every Wednesday, 7:30-10:30 pm, at City Dance Studio, 32 Otis Street, between Mission and Market, 12th St and Division, entrance up Brady onto Colton with a private parking lot. Admission is $8-10 sliding scale; first-timers are just $5. For more info, check sfbarefootboogie.com or call 415-820-1452. Dance shoes are welcome; no scents, please.

Thu April 12, 7:30–9 p.m. Nancy DeStefanis, Executive Director of San Francisco Nature Education, will lecture and screen the short films Above the Nests, directed by Nancy DeStefanis, and Heron Island, directed by Judy Irving (Wild Parrots of Telegraph Hill). Nancy will also present a brief slide show of highlights of the 2006 great blue heron colony.
Sponsored by the San Francisco Naturalist Society, the films will be shown on Thursday, April 12, 7:30–9 p.m. at the Randall Museum Theater, Randall Museum, 199 Museum Way, San Francisco. For more information see the Calendar of Events on our website http://www.sfnature.org

Technique: How to get stiff drinks every single time.

Hello aspiring alcoholics,

here's a little technique I developed and field-tested to make sure
you get the stiffest drinks possible at the venue.

1) Be friendly and cordial with the bartender at your service.

2) When he/she starts to pour FIXATE ALL YOUR ATTENTION on the drink.
Just stare at it while they pour it and make sure they know you are
staring! It seems kind of weird but just trust me on this one.

3) Thank the bartender for the triple fingered shot of jameson, or the
crystal clear long-island ice-tea in front of you.

The premise behind this is most bartenders/people don't want to be
considered dciks, are in it for tips, and if they KNOW you're watching
they'll use what power they have to please you.

If you look away while they're mixing your drink and talk to your
friends, odds go up that they'll skimp on the booze because there's no
social pressure on them to make it a spectacular one.

Hmm.. maybe it's time for my first AA Meeting. $Matt
