1. Queer in the Middle East
Date: Tuesday, March 27, 6:00pm
Location: The SF Public Library 100 Larkin Street at Grove Street, San Francisco
Presentations from: Scott Long of Human Rights Watch, Suha Dabbouseh of Amnesty International and Al-Fatiha, and a representative of the Palestinian Gay Women's organization ASWAT in public conversation moderated by Professor Mohamed Abdo Mahgoub, ex-Dean of Arts at Alexandria University in Egypt.

2. Palestine 2007: Issues in the Struggle
Date: Tuesday, March 27, 7:00 pm
Location: Centro del Pueblo 474 Valencia St (btwn 15th & 16th/near 16th St BART)
Featured Speaker: Elias Rashmawi, Chair of the National Board, National Council of Arab Americans (NCA). The situation today for the Palestinian people, Prospects for the new "National Unity" government, The relationship between the struggles in Iraq , Lebanon & Palestine , The role and objective of the U.S. government? Discussion period will follow the presentation.

3. An Evening Discussion on Christian Zionism, Featuring Chris Hedges & Hatem Bazian

Chris Hedges was a foreign correspondent for 15 years. He was on staff at The New York Times and is the author of “American Fascists: The Christian Right and the War On America” Dr. Hatem Bazian is a senior lecturer in the Department of Near Eastern Studies, and an adjunct professor at Boalt Hall School of Law at the University of California, Berkeley. Admission: $10.

4. Tuition Benefit Party for Ahmed, a Palestinian Student in San Francisco

A fundraiser to raise tuition money for Ahmed, a high school student unable to return to Gaza , to complete his education in the US . A public fair with print material offering resources for immigrants, tables at which community organizations can share their work, plus snacks, theatrical performances and live music. Come out and learn more about your rights as an immigrant, and how we can organize for this year’s May 1st mobilizations!
