A memorial is planned for Kitty Kastro aka Nadia Cabezas on April 3rd at 2pm at the St. Anthony's Foundation at 121 Golden Gate Avenue. (Please spread the word)

At the age of 40; Nadia Cabezas who was also known as Kitty Kastro had been struck by a car and killed instantly on March 5 2007 in the state of Indiana. She had gone to a funeral for her Grand mom in New York. At the last minute Kitty decided to help her mom drive to California because her mom is moving to the Bay Area. Nadia was hit while parked on the side of a highway.

The perpetrator was a 72 year old man with no drivers license, no car insurance, and the car was not registered... He had been jailed, and was eating food while driving at the time of the accident.

Nadia Cabezas aka Kitty Kastro accomplished many things through out her short life, and some of those included the standing with Act-Up, educating society about transgender issues, facing the religious right, fighting for the rights of disabled people, and furthermore she fought for her place in this world. She would tell the police when they were screwing up, and she would call a bad landlord a slumlord to their faces.

She also graduated from City College of SF in 2006, and earned an Associates degree, and a certificate for travel and tourism even though she was a High School drop out.

Kitty Kastro also hosted a public access show called Tranny Talk, where she interviewed police chiefs, children of transsexuals, political candidates, religious extremists, and Moms of transsexuals who have been killed, and the list could go on and on.

Some of her hobbies included traveling, RV'ing, and taking care of her Mom.

Nadia is survived by her Mom Kathy, her dog Maya, and our two cats Samantha and Kitty.

Dina Boyer, the producer of Tranny Talk and partner of Kitty Kastro says this is the biggest loss of my life. She was my, lover, partner, and BEST friend. We did everything together... I hope people will get the word out regarding her memorial.

Nadia Cabezas aka Kitty Kastro will be missed....
