Take Action To Help Make Universal Health Care A Reality In California!

1. Day of Action for SB 840 – Universal Health Care Act of 2007
2. San Francisco Forum on Health Care, February 23, 2007
3. Women LEAD – Women’s Voices in the Health Care Reform Debate

Fixing health care is a hot topic this year, and there is intense debate on what the
best solution is. Last year the California legislature sent an important universal
health care bill, SB 840 (Kuehl) to Governor Schwarzenegger’s desk. He vetoed it.

This year there are many health care reform bills being proposed in California.
It’s important that we remain engaged so that any health care reform that is passed
is a real solution to the health care crisis, and will truly help our families and
communities.

1. Day of Action for SB 840 - California Universal Health Care Act of 2007

State Senator Sheila Kuehl has reintroduced SB 840, the California Universal Health
Care Act of 2007. Please join Senator Kuehl and fellow health care advocates to
rally for Single-Payer Universal Health Care in Sacramento.

On Tuesday, Feb 27, 2007 Senator Kuehl will hold a press conference in Sacramento to
announce the introduction of SB 840. That afternoon, the Assembly Health Committee
will hold a hearing completely dedicated to SB 840, including a public comment
period. This is your chance to tell the California legislature why you support
single-payer universal health care! We want to pack the hearing to show the
legislature the strong public support for this bill.

Press Conference: 12:00 noon in Room 1190, State Capitol
Hearing: 1:30 pm in Room 4202, State Capitol (Arrive early as seating is limited)

Let's get SB 840 to the Governor's desk AGAIN and demand that, this time, he sign
the bill into law!
