Free Shit in the Bay Area

Free Shit Bay Area (freeshit.hackbloc.org) is an open online directory of independent spaces, actions/events, and free goodies to help support the alternative / radical community in Bay Area.

Food Not Bombs / Free Markets - We regularly prepare free community meals at many locations though out the bay area, including Peoples Park in Berkeley, downtown Santa Rosa, and United Nations Plaza in SF. We also distribute extra foods, clothes, bikes, computer equipment, and other goodies for free on the last sunday of every month in San Francisco.

Submit a Spot - If you know about a cool community space, or a place where you can get free goodies, or an upcoming (or regular) action/event, please submit it. As we are trying to build a non-profit self sufficient community, we want to encourage independent community projects, and any commercial postings will be removed.

Help Out - Some things the hackbloc collective participates in alternative / radical / community projects all over the area.

Everyone is welcome to help us in the following areas:

* people who want to help build and repair computers for community use
* people who want to help cook and serve food in public for Food Not Bombs
* people to help keep this online website maintained with free stuff, community spaces, and cool actions.
