Activist incarcerated in Humboldt County jail for climbing on William Mckinley statue

by witness
An activist was arrested in the Arcata Plaza during a Food not Bombs serving on or about February 7, after climbing on the statue of William McKinley and alledgedly writing on it. Mckinley overthrew the Sovereign Queen of Hawaii, and, in the Spanish-American war, took over Puerto Rico, Cuba and the Phillipines, eventually resulting in the deaths of 400,000 filipinos killed for opposing the American occupation in rebellion. A grisly historical photograph shows american troops standing by a giant mound of human skulls.
Geronimo Garcia was denied release by a judge, and his next court date is on Feb. 21st. He was beaten by the police/sheriffs on arrival at the jail.
