Mills women take a stand against the war in Iraq in solidarity with universities nationwide from 12:30 to 3:00 pm in the center of campus on Thursday, February 15th.
The peace rally commemorates the 4th anniversary of the initial protests against the war in Iraq and to raise awareness about the devastating effects of the war domestically and internationally. Guest speakers will include representatives from Congresswoman Barbara Lee’s District office, CODEPINK, the ANSWER coalition, as well as student and faculty speakers. This event was conceived by the newly established Mills College Peace Coalition. Our purpose is to promote peace, tolerance and social justice. Reviving spirit of activism in students, promote peace and conditions of equality awareness,
violence awareness. Peace on all levels -- local, national and global. We strongly encourage members of the press to report on this momentous community event.
