Emerging Black Farmers throughout the United States and abroad join the effort to seek balance in the U.S. Farm and Food Policy. A new opportunity to demonstrate our unique cultural expression as equal partners in Food, Fiber, Fuel and Financial markets of our global Agriculture industry is at hand. Broad based community support is necessary to assist the Congressional Black Caucus reduce the impacts of race and poverty directly related to food insecurity. Black Farmers and Agriculturalists Association hope you will to read the FFPP platform and voice your concerns today.

A broad alliance of agriculture, anti-hunger, faith-based, public health, rural, and
conservation groups call for a new generation of farm and food policies to
address the nation's most pressing challenges.

WHAT: As the 110th Congress gets underway, it will write a new farm
bill that addresses such critical issues as agricultural
production, food and nutrition assistance, rural development,
renewable energy, equity and conservation. The Farm and Food
Policy Project (FFPP) is a collaboration of diverse organizations
united by the common vision of a more sustainable food and
agricultural system for the United States. The FFPP facilitated a
consensus building process culminating in a joint farm bill
declaration that has now been endorsed by over 350 organizations.
This declaration -- Seeking Balance in U.S. Farm and Food Policy
-- will be released at the news/phone conference.

and for all who depend on a healthy food system.
