Haiti: Researchers to speak about sex assault

Two researchers will discuss sexual assault and violence against Haitian women and girls by police and paramilitary troops after the U.S.-led coup in 2004.

Researchers Athena Koble and Royce Hutson will present their findings at 7 p.m. Jan. 11 at the Redwoods Presbyterian Church, at 110 Magnolia Ave.

Their study was published in the Lancet, a British medical journal, in September 2006.

The presentation is sponsored by Marin Interfaith Task Force on the Americas. A donation of $5 to $10 is requested.
