The session will engage two audiences: Marxists and feminists. To Marxists the challenge is to grasp how fundamental women are to Marx’s conception of the new society, without which one will miss the revolution. To current trends in feminism now searching for a way to get beyond feminism as just “for” women, the challenge is to re-examine Marx’s humanism as a way to realize feminism’s vision of new human relations. Sponsored by The Institute for the Critical Study of Society.
