First day of my trial

by Gabe Meyers (styrofoam [at] riseup.net)
Just a quick update!
Not much actually happened on the first day. It was just a trial setting stage; meaning that they are assigning me a courtroom and judge. I invoked my right to speedy trial. So opening arguments have to happen within 60 days. The judge did make some comments about my self lynching charge, saying that he was wondering how someone could lynch themselves. He then criticized the prosecutor for saying that I was involved in a riot. Hopefully that is a positive sign. Well, I have to return next Friday, Dec. 15th in Department 22 at 9AM. Not much will probably happen that day either, so if you wanna show up to support me, and are having a hard time doing it during the week, then I would probably try to make the time to show up for my actual trial. I think the verdict and opening arguments would be the best days to show alot of support in the courtroom; especially the verdict. I'll keep everyone posted on the dates. Well, that is about it for now. Thanks everyone for their support, I truly appreciate all that I can get and take it to heart.
