Inner Light in a Time of Darkness: A Conversation with Author and Poet Alice Walker
A renowned author, poet and activist, Alice Walker is perhaps best known for her book "The Color Purple" for which she won the Pulitzer Prize in 1983. She was the first African-American woman to win the Pulitzer for fiction. Alice Walker joins us in our firehouse studio to talk about her latest work, "We Are the Ones We Have Been Waiting," and much more.
"The Color Purple" was adapted into an Oscar-nominated feature length film and has been recently made into a Broadway musical. She has written many other bestselling books including "In Search of Our Mothers Gardens", "Possessing the Secret of Joy" "The Way Forward Is with a Broken Heart."
Her latest novel is "We Are the Ones We Have Been Waiting: Inner Light in a Time of Darkness."
