On Saturday Nov. 11th. over 500 Berkeley residents and Bay Area environmentalists marched on the Pacific Steel Foundry calling for an immediate halt to the companies discharge of heavy metals into the atmosphere. One father whose six year old son attended school at the Franklin Parent Pre-School two blocks from the factory, told the crowd about how his 6 year old son came down with serious lung ailments that cleared up when he moved to a different school. His youngest son now, has been out of school for over 2 months when the 4 year old also started to show symptoms similar to those his brother suffered.

Despite millions spent on a chemical "scrubber" for the plant. Independant tests are still detecting high levels of heavy metals according to residents.

Pacific Steel still refuses to release the results of their own tests conducted earlier this year.
