The war in the Middle East is getting worse every day. More and more, policies of our federal government are isolating the American people, meanwhile the Bush administration itself, has remained out of public favor for some time. Yet our society prides itself on its freedom and democracy. If our elected officials are supposed representative of the people, shouldn’t we get to vote on policies of war and aggression?
In a time of elections in the United States, it’s important to ask, why is the public being left out of control over foreign policy and our image around the world? Will a Democratic takeover of Congress put power back into the hands of the people?
