Death Penalty charges are being re-filed in Philadelphia court. Mumia's legal team has been successful in getting the court to hear three appeals out of the hundreds of challenges to the original trial. Jeff Mackler reports that they are successful on any one of the three charges, Mumia will be given a new trial and a chance at some justice. If the court rejects these challenges and the dealth penalty sticks, an execution will be scheduled within 90 days.
So these are crucial times for Mumia, who has been imprisioned and on Death Row for just about 25 years. His current legal team has said they've never seen a situation in which a court was so bent on executing someone, and it appears from the evidence presented that he did not do it. Activists need to stand strong as the case once again goes forward.
