On the 40th Anniversary there will be a March on 3rd Street

by Francisco Da Costa
40 years ago there was a riot in the Bayview. A young man Mathew Johnson was shot by the San Francisco Police. Armored Tanks, Riot Police, and even the National Guard was called to bully those that were fighting for their rights. 40 years later - nothing much has changed - we are still fighting for our basic rights. On Wednesday, September 27, 2006 at 3:30 pm starting from Williams Street on 3rd Street where we will gather and march to Palou Street. Join us good children, women and man of good faith.
This City is a Racist City and the City attorney has now challenge us to really fight for our rights.

We challenged the City Attorney, the Mayor, some Board of Supervisors, others when we collected over 33,000 signatures to defend the Bayview Hunters Point. The SF Department of Election validated the signatures.

The City Attorney has decided to challenge us saying that we did not follow the process.

Accompanying the collection of the signature we should have had documentation referencing every single element and document that we made reference to in the two page introduction preceeding the page where the constituents signed against the take over of large areas in the Bayview Hunters Point by San Francisco Redevelopment Agency (SFRA).

Had we followed that process we would have been obliged to carry with us a 4000 page document that I doubt anyone would have read.

In other words this City does not want those that suffer and are played by SFRA and crooked developers to do anything about the corruption and the take over of the land of the constituents.

Eminent Domain is a tool, but also Tax Increment, and High Density Buildings used by SFRA and the evil Marsha Rosen.

Why does not SFRA go to the richer neighborhoods and build high density homes. I could suggest Pacific Heights!

On Wednesday, September 27, 2007 join us at 3.30 pm at Williams Street on 3rd Street. We will march to Palou where local leaders will speak.

We will Commermorate the 40 year anniversary of the Bayview riots.

We will also remember the day a young man was shot and killed - Mathew Johnson.

We will remind this Racist City about the 33,000 signatures we collected.

33,000 signatures demand to be counted. We will not be silenced. We will not be moved.

The Bayview Paper, The Bay Area Nation of Islam, Power, Acorn, Environmental Justice Advocacy, many other organizations will join us and remember what happened 40 years ago.

We will also remind this City that it has failed the constituents of San Francisco and more the constituents of the Southeast Sector.
