SF-- LAST time
for Gender Enders, alas:
Friday, September 15th, 8 pm:
San Francisco Says Goodbye to GenderEnders:
After three years running, the San Francisco-based trans/intersex/genderqueer-focused performance series GenderEnders will have its final show: GenderEnders curator and host Julia Serano first created the series in 2003 in order to foster community among transgender-, intersex-, and genderqueer-identified performers and to provide opportunities for gender/sex variant voices to reach larger audiences. Now that the Bay Area's burgeoning "trans" performance scene is going strong, with numerous trans-focused, trans-hosted, and trans-friendly events occurring every month, Serano has decided to retire the series in order to focus on a more trans woman-specific project early next year.
This final installment will feature the hilarious Ham-Bone Johnson, Queer Open Mic host Cindy Emch, and author Thea Hillman [ "For Lack of a Better Word" ].
Host Julia Serano reads excerpt from WHIPPING GIRL.
In addition to the featured performers, GenderEnders hosts a performance open mic. Attendees are encouraged to bring their announcements and their music, spoken word, stand-up comedy, performance art, or any other type of performance to the event.

At LoveFest and at Folsom,
nude-for-peace political demonstrators
may be displaying peace signs, and/or an Earth flag,
and passing out leaflets which say (in part):
" OUR BODIES SPEAK FOR US: Beyond mere words, our nakist bodies signify our ideals of human liberation. They represent the genome of the human species, surprisingly similar on every continent.
Our semantic nakity conveys messages of hope, and of danger. Our bodies speak for our souls.
Our anti-costume calls for freedom now. Our public nakity, open to sun and fog and wind, calls for understanding that our Mother Earth is mortal, and that we must come swiftly to her rescue.... "

POWER TO THE RICH !

California home-owners register AND vote;
while many renters don't even register.

So California's propositions are decided by
a richer, older, whiter fraction of the adult population.
