Art, Music, Dinner, Ceremony and Dance!
Woodland Apartments, 3010 Sandra Drive in Algiers

Since Hurricane Katrina, volunteers from across New Orleans and the world have come together in an unprecedented effort to work in solidarity with one other in providing relief to communities most in need while supporting their efforts to come home and rebuild in just and sustainable ways.

Whether people needed health care, legal support, food or water, access to computers or phones, homes gutted, soils cleaned of toxins, tutoring for kids, a bike or a place to lay their head, Common Ground has been there redistributing resources from those who have to those who don’t.

We honor the people of New Orleans, whose spirit and courage inspire us. We honor all those who have volunteered their heart, soul, time and resources. We honor those communities who have been ravaged by racism and neglect that continue to organize and fight for justice and peace!

Together Let Us Celebrate This Common Ground!

The work to rebuild New Orleans in just and sustainable ways is far from over. Your continued support - whether it be your time, material resources or money is still needed. Have a party and pass the hat on Tuesday, Sept 5th, wear a safety pin to collect money in the New Orleans Birthday tradition, hold a video showing - whatever you can do to keep the plight of Katrina survivors in the public consciousness and continue to channel much needed resources to the region!

Thanks to all who have supported this incredible effort! We all hold a piece of this Common Ground!
