by Amanda Bellerby ( mndbliss [at] yahoo.com )
Thursday Aug 31st, 2006 5:04 PM
Interview with Rick Steiner, professor at the University of Alaska and member of the IUCN's Commission on Environmental, Economic and Social policy. Mr. Steiner has worked on environmental assessment of the Exxon Valdez oil spill in Alaska since 1989 and is considered an expert in the field. He was in Lebanon for the past two weeks at the request of the Lebanese Environment Ministry, assessing the damage caused by the massive oil spill in the Eastern Mediterranean sea. IDF missile strikes on the Jiyeh power plant caused the catastrophe. Steiner asserts that those attacks constitute war crimes, and discusses the ramifications. mp3 audio, 15:29
