Stand up against visiting abuses at Salinas Valley, CTF and prisons statewide. Families are being turned away for any small reason whatsoever after traveling hundreds of miles and spending their last dime to visit loved ones in prisons. Visiting Sgts are abusive, in particular Sgt. K Nuckles at SVSP who needs to be fired. The families are not in prison yet they are treated as criminals. 30,000 children may not visit their own parent even though their crime may have had nothing to do with a sex offense. This punishes children and targets the mentally ill.

There are very few windows for ad seg where people are being kept for months and years at a time, isolation torture housing. Families cannot get a one hour appointment in most cases at all. This destroys family ties and makes prisoners in isolation very depressed. If they are late, no matter how far they traveled, they are denied a visit. It's a cruel system and very inflexible.

Children are interrogated by armed guards at length, even toddlers. Only 3 people are allowed per visit even though the prisoner may have more children. It's a ridiculous procedure

The flyer for the event is located at the link below. If you have a ride to offer or need a ride to the event please contact Susan Randall, uniondatabase [at] aol.com. The size of the crowd determines how much press coverage we'll get to bring attention to these routine abuses

Please print off and send the flyer everywhere. We are picketing the prison known for "Green Wall" bullies, so it is best if people with criminal records DO NOT ATTEND. SEND YOUR MOM AND GRANDMOTHER to this one, ldisabled people and liittle children are especially welcome
