by Christina Aanestad
Thursday Aug 10th, 2006 7:42 PM
Indybay and Faultine's Ali Bektac has been in Beirut, Lebanon for one week. Below is a 16 minute phone conversation we had about the state of Lebanon with invading Isreali forces and the dire state of humanitarian relief.

Ali Bektac, an independent journalist, has visited numerous bombing sites in Lebanon, where hundreds of innocent Lebanese civilians have died since the Isreali attacks began one month ago. Bektac describes the dire situation of many areas without gas, electricity, water, food, or medicine. He also talks about the International Humanitarian Relief Convoy and this weekends protest against the month long Isreali invasion. Protests will be held in San Francisco, Los Angeles,
Washington DC; Beirut, Lebanon; and cities in Kenya, India, Pakistan, Brazil Franc, Canada and Australia.
